First off, i'm not gay. I just don't think that people should have their rights taken away because some homophobic assholes think that same sex marriage will turn kids into gays. This will not happen. It's not like a kid goes to school one day, hears a presentation about gay marriage and comes back the next day as a homosexual. THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS!

Oh and just an FYI, I will be blocking any comments that go like this: HOMOS SUCK, VOTE YES ON 8. However, if you state an argument about why you think Prop 8 is benificial, I will leave it up.

Well, it's over. And it looks like the Yes on 8 group has successfully used their bigoted and controlling ways to force their ideas and beliefs on others. Let me just say this. If your not gay don't get married to somebody who is the same sex as you. BUT THAT DOSENT MEAN YOU HAVE TO FORCE YOUR CHOICE ON EVERYBODY ELSE! If you cant respect another people's choices and freedoms then GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. This is the land of the free. Groups like the Yes on 8 party should not be allowed to vote to strip people of their rights as American citizens.

It's sad to see that there aren't more people supporting the rights of people like this. I did a "No on Prop 8" search on Google image search and not much came up, when I searched "Prop 8", there were quite a few results. Keep it up.

Thank you very much. Though I figured I already knew my place on the matter I wanted to read up on it a bit more. I'll put this on my profile right away :3

On a side note, the No On 8 argument writers need some English lessons. :P

You cant take away a right they were never given! God never gave the right for them to get married. Letting Gay people get married would lead them down the wrong path. And if you think that it being taught in schools has no effect on children, you are sadly mistaken. Its common knowledge children learn, and adopt what they see in school as well as what they see in the media. Marriage is one of the first most sacred institutions created by God, even before He created the church.

In light of God’s rejection of the sin of Homosexuality, God loves the homosexual. Because God loves homosexuals so should we. God does not want homosexuals to stay in their sin. His grace for forgiveness is available without restriction to ALL sinners.

Listen, that's fine and well to have your beliefs and everything, but when you start subjecting other people to them, telling them how to live their life based on something that you find to be true and not them, that's when you're going too far.

Our government has clearly established that we are to keep the church and state separate. Marriage in this case is giving benefits to people that they don't have with Civil Unions. A church does not have to marry a gay couple if they don't want to; it can be a religious act, but it is also a legal act because of the benefits that come from marriage. Take a look at the definitions:

"Marriage is a social, religious, spiritual, or legal union of individuals."
"Marriage is an institution in which interpersonal relationships (usually intimate and sexual) are acknowledged by the state or by religious authority."

This whole "love the sinner, hate the sin" ideology just breeds intolerance and hate, which, if I recall correctly, was not exactly something Jesus, aka "The Prince of Peace" and "Not Casting the First Stone," was big on.

And just so you know: the Bible also forbids a number of other things people seem to have no problem with:

:bulletred: To rebuke the sinner (Lev. 19:17) --Hmm.
:bulletred: To love the stranger (Deut. 10:19)
:bulletred: Neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woolen come upon thee. -- Leviticus 19:19 --Polyester is out.
:bulletred: The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God. (Deut. 22:5) --So, I hope you’ve never worn pants before if you’re a woman.
:bulletred: If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel. (Deut. 22:22)

And yet…John 8:7 contradicts the previous one:
:bulletblue:“He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone”

We don’t need more intolerance and hate because people have decided to pick and choose which parts of the bible to follow and condemn others for doing the same thing. We need acceptance, tolerance, and unity.
